After a windless first day Steve, Colin and I were itching to get out on the water and as forecasted Moulay delivered with 5.2 full power in the morning in a solid head high+ long period groundswell. After about half an hour on the water I was just starting to get tuned into the conditions but then when saiing out I copped a big mushy one on the head and...SNAP. My 400 turned from a two into a three piece. ARSE. First time I've ever broken a mast.

I sulked back to the White House in a huff, had lunch and re-rigged my 5.2 on the 430. Annoyingly the wind then went very patchy and consistent planing and consequently also wave catching became difficult. So not the best of days but sooo nice nevertheless to be out in hot hot sunshine after such a shitty winter. The forecast for the rest of the week is a cracker so fingers crossed for better tomorrow and beyond.
